Lady Captains Welcome

As Lady Captain it is my pleasure to offer you a very warm welcome to Atherstone Golf Club
and thank you for visiting our website. I trust you will have the opportunity to visit our
friendly club in the very near future.
Our course is in great condition thanks to our fantastic greenkeepers and provides a true
challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Picturesque whatever the season, it features charming
wildlife and birds with wonderful neighbouring countryside along with stunning views.
Visitors always remark how pretty the course is and how much they enjoy playing it, often
returning to see it in another of the four seasons.
We host a series of Opens during the year for men, ladies, juniors and mixed events and
otherwise welcome individual visitors, groups and societies.
The ladies section is small but we are a remarkable bunch, friendly and fun loving. We may
be a small section but we always turn up and support each other. My first impression when I
joined Atherstone Golf Club, was that the ladies section was very friendly and always
welcomed new members whatever their standard of play. I can confirm those first
impressions were absolutely correct. The Ladies Competition days are Wednesdays and
Saturdays to accommodate working and part time players. We participate in Stableford,
Medal & Trophy rounds as well as County League matches. We also take part in Ping, Vets
and friendlies with local clubs. The main event of the year is the annual 80+ year old
tradition of playing the ‘Rose Bowl’ as part of Tripartite Week with Hinckley and Nuneaton
Golf Clubs.
We are always ready to welcome new members and would point out beginners are just as
welcome as established players, so if there are ladies out there who would like to take up
golf, come along and enjoy the companionship and the fun. We have a very attractive Ladies
Membership Fee of £599 per year for full membership to the club. I would be happy to
arrange for potential new members to play a trial round with myself or another lady
member. Please feel free to contact me on hboyce3@googlemail.com
Finally, it truly is a great honour to become part of this clubs long history and I feel very
honoured to be elected as Lady Captain of Atherstone Golf Club. I would also like to wish
Mr Captain Phil Challis a great year.
I look forward to working with everyone and seeing you all in 2023 and I hope we all have a
great year of golf and hopefully lots of sunshine.
Kindest regards
Heather Boyce
