In addition, if the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes with the line of play between the ball and the hole, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which (a) is not nearer the hole and (b) avoids such intervention and (c) is not in a hazard or putting green.

MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24-1)

Stones in bunkers.

OVERHEAD POWERLINES

A player’s stroke must be cancelled and replayed without penalty (Rule20-5) if his ball strikes an elevated power line or cable. If the ball is not immediately recoverable, another ball may be substituted.

Exceptions: A ball striking an elevated junction section of cable rising from the ground shall not be replayed.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES (Rule 14-3)

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g.gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
